No, you don't need to enter credit card details to sign up. Our free plan lets you try out Contento and even create great websites without any upfront payment. However, you'll need to add your card details once you approach the limits of our free plan... but they are generous.

A Headless CMS is a more technical set-up. You'll need a front end dev to set it up. After that your developer dependency should be reduced in terms of maintenance but you will need access to a dev for new page builds.

We felt that most Headless CMS were built by developers for developers. But the content and marketing teams are often the primary users post launch. So we decided to build a CMS that developers would still love but would also meet the needs of the content and marketing teams that have to use the CMS.

If you reach the limit for any item, such as users, content types, or entries included in your plan, you won't be able to add more to that site. You have two options: either delete existing items or upgrade to a plan with higher limits. Admins can upgrade or downgrade plans directly within the web app. Our goal is to provide you with great value and flexibility.

You will need a skilled front end developer to set everything up, and to support ongoing management and maintenance.
